  • UFC 100 Thoughts

heavyweights: brock lesnar vs. frank mir (title fight)
this is a title unification fight.  anytime brock enters the octagon... it's a huge excitement.  the guy walks at close to 285 pounds.  the heavyweight division has a weight cap at 265 pounds.  w/ that said, most heavyweight fighters walk at 225 pounds and can easily drop to light heavyweight (205llbs) if they just watched their diet.  frank mir is an accomplished brazilian jit-jitsu blackbelt that can turn the fight around w/ one slipup of the monster, brock.

welterweights: georges st-pierre vs. thiago alves (title fight)
this will be gsp's most difficult challenge known to date.  thiago is a HUGE welterweight (larger than gsp) that has ridiculous strength and knockout power.  w/ much anticipation, gsp has the potential to setup a MEGA FIGHT against current middleweight champion (and also pound for pound best fighter in mma), anderson silva.

welterweights: jon fitch vs. paulo thiago
jon fitch is on the road to title contention.  his war w/ gsp put him on the map of fans.  paulo thiago is coming from an upset win against highly touted josh koscheck on a controversial win.

middleweights: dan henderson vs. michael bisping
both dan henderson have fought as middleweights and light heavyweights.  bisping has been on a tear since his first time drop to the middleweight division.  bisping has amazing cardio and is relentless w/ his standup game.  dan henderson is a wrestler by trade but his right hand is uber fierce.  if bisping can keep the fight standing, this could turn out to be an exciting fight.

middleweights: yoshihiro akiyama vs. alan belcher
this fight is for the mma fans.  akiyama has been anticipated to enter the octagon for quite some time now.  he's one of the hottest internation stars in mma w/ a HUGE cult fan base.  half korean/half japanese, this guy has the potential to be the next big ufc champion.

    preliminary card
light heavyweights: mark coleman vs. stephan bonnar
both have long mma history.  they're both past their prime but stephan bonnar's relentlessness will make for a good fight.  win or lose.  bonnar last fought against the young star, jon jones.

lightweights: mac danzig vs. jim miller
    no comment

light heavyweights: jon jones vs. jake o'brien
jon jones is coming off an INCREDIBLE win over UFC veteran, stephan bonnar.  this guy went into instant stardom by his unorthodox style of fighting.  a wrestler by trade, jones pulled off moves you rarely ever see in mixed martial arts.  the guy is already being touted as the future of the sport.

welterweights: dong hyun kim vs. tj grant
de-han meengook!  dong hyun kim is a fighter that koreans can finally be proud of.  a quite lanky fighter at 185 pounds, dong hyun is a master of judo that is known to wear fighters down w/ his constant back control.  the guy has a bright future in the ufc if he can do his thang in this fight.  the general korean american population will know his name soon.

welterweights: c.b. dollaway vs. tom lawlor

lightweights: matt grice vs. shannon gugerty

remember when it was cool to be a photographer?
remember when everyone and their momz got a digital slr which made photography lame?
remember when the cool kids got lomo's, polaroid's and other various analog cameras to be cool again?

it's interesting that there are two types of people in this situation.

    1. people that are trying hard to fit in
    2. people that are trying hard to separate themselves from the rest

i wonder if it's like this across the board?

  • Dear ________

    dear _________,

how many times do you sin a day?  what sins do you commit?  isn't all sin habitual?  what is your definition on the difference between a leader and a regular church attendee?  do you think your church is disconnected to humanity?  where are your priorities of keeping your flock in check?

    sincerely,

    athenian disguised as the visigoth

mental note: for the time being, i'm no longer looking for fellowship of gospel seekers in the church.  it's all for social networking, baby!
